The Informatics Forum was designed by Bennetts Associates, and built between 2003-2008. The building represents phase one of the Potter Row Development project, part of the University's development framework for George Square/Bristo Square. A landmark building, the Informatics Forum houses the School of Informatics and is a world-class centre for information technology research and teaching at the University of Edinburgh. The building reflects the University's environmental policy, with sustainability and minimising energy usage being major tasks for the design team.
The Dugland Stewart Building was built as an addition to the Informatics Forum and houses the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences.
Inspace, located on the ground floor of the Informatics Forum, is a public engagement lab with the ability to transform from a gallery, to a workshop or lecture space. The dynamic structure of Inspace allows it to accommodate exhibitions and events such as the Edinburgh International Science Fair and the SciFun Roadshow. #Dugald_Stewart #Edinburgh #Forum #Informatics #Inspace #Language_Sciences #Philosophy #University
