The Eiffel Tower is completely repainted every 7 years. His 19th and last season ran from March 2009 to December 2010. This requires 25 painters, 60 tons of paint to be applied on 250 000m2 surface.
Also, given the cost (€ 4millions) and the technical difficulty of maintaining the building, the municipality of Paris has decided to cover the symbol of the city.
