Tilbury B power station in Essex is a coal fired 1,428mw power station and has operated since 1967. It is the second power station at Tilbury and is overated by RWE npower. Coal is supplied by ships from the Thames Estuary. It generated power for 1.4million people, roughly 80% of Essex. The power station is being converted to run from biomass fuel.
