The 611 Place, LA's first highrise above 600 feet, 2nd above 500, being the (Then Union Bank Plaza) Union Bank of California Plaza in 1968. The Building was completed in 1969 and beat the Union Bank Plaza as LA's Tallest, until 1972 with the completion of the (Then Arco Plaza) City National Bank Plaza Twin Towers. The building was the tallest in California for a short time, until the (then Bank Of America Center) 555 California Street was completed the very same year. The Tower rises 620 feet, 42 stories. You may have seen this movie in Epicenter (2000), Along Came Poly (2004), The Day After Tomorrow (2004), except in The Day After Tomorrow, it was placed in NYC. Originally the Building was built for Crocker Citizen's Bank, then AT&T, both had huge logo's on the building's huge White Slab on the building's northwest side. By the late 90's AT&T vacated the building. Today the building is called the 611 Place, there have been plans to convert the upper floors to condominiums. Designed by William L. Pereira & Associates. #att #building #california #downtown_la #highrise #international #los_angeles #modern #office #photo #phototextures #plaza #skyline #skyscraper
