As featured in books by Kim Stanley Robinson, the Mars Trilogy and New York 2140. Inspired by the artist Raymond Bareiss who created this shape back in the early 90's. I created this simple model based on a single photo in the 1991 Popular Science by trying to match the geometry. It is formed with a semicircle base and top at 180 deg rotation to each other flowing smoothly from the arc at top to straight line at base and vice versa.
