The CMP (Canadian Military Pattern) truck was a class of military truck made in large numbers in Canada during World War II to British Army specs for use as the standard truck in the armies of the Brits Commonwealth allies. During the war, these trucks saw service around the world where the brits and their commonwealth pals were, and some were being sent to Russia as part of Canada's lend-lease program. The truck production included both modified civilian designs as well as purely military designs based on the CMP specification, most of them were manufactured by the Chevrolet division of General Motors of Canada Ltd and by the Ford Motor Company of Canada. Following Brits convention CMP trucks had right-hand drive even though they were made in Canada, which primarily used left-hand drive vehicles. The CMP trucks proved very versatile that many of them also saw service in post-war conflicts like in Indonesia, French Indochina, and the Portuguese colonies in Africa. #4x4 #C60L #canadian #chevrolet #CMP #military #truck
