Component House, 2021

John Luttropp
This is a concept for a house that contains two living spaces—a main unit for a family of two to four people, and a rental unit for either one person, a couple, or a couple with a child. The house is made up of precast concrete sections set into a steel framework, with repeating window modules. The house is designed for a flat lot that has a street running in front and a golf course view out the back, so the front is rather private and the back quite open. The living space is designed as an open plan, with a large living/dining/kitchen as the main space with a feature fireplace, framed by an office, bedrooms, and multipurpose rooms. There is a utility room for mechanicals separating the kitchen from the other rooms. The rental space has two bedrooms, a bath and an open plan entry/living/kitchen/dining area, and a small mechanical room. The roof would be standing seam metal with solar panels. Thanks to all whose models I have included or altered for use.
