This is a 3d build of the Starstreak, a ship that appeared in the 1979 Canadian-made sci-fi film "The Shape of Things to Come" and based on the classic H.G. Wells novel of the same name. Except for borrowing the names of characters, the film had nothing to do with the book and was just an attempt by the studio to capitalize on the popularity of Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica. The Starstreak was used by the movie's heroes as they battle a tyrant who terrorized New Washington, a city on the moon populated by survivors of a nuclear post-apocalypse Earth. The ship's saucer section detached and was used as a lander while the rest of the ship remained in orbit. The original model was heavily kit-bashed - I think the engine section was from a model of an F-15 fighter, and car rims were used on the wings.
