This is an almost-production-ready design for a small-scale dual-shaft waste shredder, inspired by the Precious Plastic shredder, but modified to use 2 counter-rotating shafts like many industrial designs do.
This model is offered freely, as-is. I hope to build a prototype very soon, but until then you should not assume that this will just work. The bearings are 1" shaft, with 100mm spacing between bolts, and 12mm diameter. The shafts are 2x 12" x 3/4" hex bars, which are smaller than the 27mm hex shaft used in the original precious plastic shredder. This change has been made so that an adapter can be cut along with the other parts that allows the 3/4" hex shaft to seat inside a 1" bearing, which is intended to eliminate the need for lathe-work on the shaft. It also uses a cut-metal adapter for a 2.11" OD lovejoy coupler, so that the shaft can be easily coupled to many different sizes of motor shaft.
