The EMD SD60 was manufactured from 1984 to 1995 by the General Motors Electro-Motive Division. These locomotives were equipped with an EMD 16-710G3A prime mover and had a power output of 3,800 HP and were designed for hauling medium to heavy freight trains. Early models of the SD60M used a wide cab with a 3-piece windshield, affectionately named the "Triclops", and were purchased by the Burlington Northern, Soo Line, and Union Pacific railway. BNSF inherited Burlington Northern's fleet of SD60M "Triclops" locomotives and many wear the BNSF H4 paint scheme.
