Bluebird Radio by Walter Dorwin Teague

Bluebird Radio by Walter Dorwin Teague

D.H. Goldfish
This is the tabletop model of the radio with a face of mirrored cobalt blue glass. This radio was originally made in the 1930's for the Sparton Radio Corporation, as Model 566. It was reproduced by Crosley as model CR37. Both Sparton's tabletop model and the 4' high floor-standing "Nocturne" version are in museum collections. This .jpg is of the repro, as you can tell by the silver feet. If you want it to look like a valuable original, just change them back to shiny black! 1st Dibs on Walter Dorwin Teague: "Along with Raymond Loewy, Norman Bel Geddes, Henry Dreyfuss and others, Walter Dorwin Teague pioneered the field of industrial design in the early decades of the 20th century. In his designs for furniture and objects that ranged from table lamps to radios, Teague helped defined the Machine Age aesthetic — the streamlined style that was the American counterpart to the French Art Deco movement." #radio #vintage #cobalt #repro #streamline #moderne #art_deco #Low_Poly
