Back in the 1960s, to advertise a nationwide American motel chain, one had to develop a way to stand out from others. Holiday Inn had the Great Sign, Howard Johnson's had their orange-roofed Gate Lodges (with cupola and weatherwaves included) and restaurants, Ramada and it's Colonial-styled motels and TraveLodge had their mascot Sleepy Bear. These signs among other different types sat at the entrances to TraveLodge motel in the 50s and 60s. No fully intact of this sign or any other of the sort remains today. More unique T/L signs will be added later. I hope to have 36 different signs. Feel free to use any of these in any classic motel model, so long as you give credit.
