Austrian state railways ordered sice it´s re-creation in middle 1880´s only carriages with 2 or 3 axles. In 1891, there was built the court train of the emperor of Austrian-Hungary Empire consting of 3- axle and newly-created 4 axle carriages. After that, in 1894 Ringhoffer factory in Smichov built 2 prototypes of 4-axle passenger carriages for austrian state railways. The first of them, Aa 2071 was the first- class cariage for luxury trains Wien - Meran and Wien Carlsbad. Designed by the same man designated court train - Jiří Stříbral was using luxurious interior. After that, in 1895-1896 was built serie of 5 pics and in 1897 was produced some pics for trains Wien - Salzburg. These type of carriage was not optimally used, much of them was rebuilt to mix-classed carriage ABa and the est of them was using as saloon carriages.
