The MotivePower HSP46 is a four axle diesel-electric passenger locomotive built from 2013 to 2014 for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) to supplement their existing fleet of F40PH and GP40MC locomotives. This locomotive is equipped with a GEVO-12 engine and meets EPA Tier 3 emission standards.
These engines currently run in revenue service across the MBTA system, and are more common on the lines out of Boston South Station
