This is my stand for starting my garden seedlings and my wife's flowers in the winter. My inspiration was a YouTube video of a gent in Canada I believe, I cannot find it now, that built one similar.
It breaks down for storage, although you could certainly build it permanent. It is held together with 3in 5/6 carriage bolts and wing nuts.
It is made with standard dimensional lumber you can get at any big box. Pocket screws are the easiest way to build this but you could use dowels or even traditional joinery like mortise and tenon. Unless you are keeping it in your living room no need to get the expensive stuff. This thing is going to get wet and dirty.
The light fixtures are for reference only. I hang mine from small chains so I can raise and lower them as the seedlings develop into plants. I recommend a minimum 2 bulb fixture, 4 would be better.
The bottom and middle shelf will hold 2 standard 20in plant trays each. I use the top to store tools of the trade.
