Although not the oldest mosque of Prizren, undoubtedly it is the most beautiful mosque inside and around the city. Its location makes it dominate over the city.
It was built on 1615 by Sinan Pasha, who had different roles in the Ottoman administration. During the Balkan War and the World War the First the mosque was used as a ammunition by the Bulgar and Serbian army. As administration of the 1919 knew that the building material of the mosque was taken from the monastery of Archangel (2km away from Prizren), they tried to destroy the mosque to turn back the building material to monastery. They destroyed only the porch because of great protesters who opposed this plan.
