Tri-Level Autorack - Providence & Worcester (GATX)

TRG
Autoracks are a special kind of railroad car designed for the transport of cars and small trucks. The tri-level auto rack was introduced in the 1960s, and in subsequent years, the auto racks were eventually converted into closed cars with panel sides and a corrugated roof. This auto rack is owned by GATX, which has a long term lease with the P&W. On many class I, and even class II railroads, these cars are usually pulled in unit trains, a kind of train which is only used for transporting automobiles.
