The Mosin Nagant was a rifle developed in 1891 by a Russian soldier and a Belgian inventor. Over the years, a family of Mosin-Nagant rifles has developed. Major variants include the original M1891, M1891 Dragoon Carbine, M1891/30, M1891/30 Sniper, M38, M44, and M59. All Mosin-Nagant rifles were chambered in the 7.62x54R cartridge and used a unique bolt system.
