The train was constructed by ABB and Kalmar verkstad.
After the initial order of trains used for the X2000 service, SJ ordered 14 additional trains for use in regional services.
This model shows the version used on the Coast-to-Coast line between Gothenburg and kalmar/Karlskrona. The trains were used on the line from 1994 until 2002. They were then transferred to the regular X2000 service.
