Longannet Power Station is a 2400MW coal power station in Fife on the banks of the Fourth. The power station began generation in 1970 and was opened in 1973. It now co-fires natrual gas, biomass and sludge. The facility was originally operated by the South of Scotland Electricity board and is now operated by Scottish Power.
