Following the end of Earth’s Third World War in 2053, scientist Zephram Cochrane led a team of scientists and engineers to an abandoned Titan II missile complex outside the remote town of Boseman, Montana where they would spend the next decade developing the warp theory that would lead to the first successful Human warp drive flight, set for the morning of April 5th, 2063. But the night before, the complex was attacked by a Borg sphere that had traveled from the year 2373 to stop the launch. It was only through the intervention of the USS Enterprise E, which had followed the Borg through time, that the Borg were stopped, allowing the successful launch of the Phoenix, leading to first contact with a passing Vulcan ship on April 5th. This model represents the Phoenix in both launch and warp flight configurations, and is based on original concept art created by graphic artist John Eaves for the 1996 movie Star Trek-First Contact, which chronicled that story.
