A Norfolk Southern GE ES44AC in the Conrail heritage livery. This was NS' first heritage unit, painted on March 15, 2012 in Altoona, Pennsylvania and first placed in revenue service five days later, leading a coal train from Conway, PA to Portsmouth, OH. Conrail is one of the three former railroads that make up portion of NS' trackage, founded in 1976 from the merger of Penn Central and several other bankrupt Northeastern US railroads.
