This is a time machine of my own design, for a book I'm writing. The gyroscopic rings around the outside of the cabin emit gravitons, the nanoscopic particles that cause gravity. The rings emit gravitons forward to propell it, along with any other direction to move it accordingly. While conceiving this machine, I realized one crucial error in most time machine interpretations. If the machine moves into the future, it would be visible flying throughout the many years. Even though to the machine and its passengers, this time would pass in the blink of an eye, outside people would notice it hovering there. There would be no way to hide. Paranoid people would destroy it, possibly. So, this machine is able to instead open a wormhole, and separate itself from local space time, flying through higher dimensions, reattaching itself into the universe at the desired time and place. The cabin is contained within a bubble of normal space, so the matter inside is not rendered irrelevant and destroyed. Since interdimensional flight requires higher sensory input and control than humans can handle, the ship is driven by an onboard computer, whose brain is not confined by common perceptions. This computer is a laptop named P.H.I.L. (Phully Highly Intelligent Laptop). PHIL is a science project turned self-aware who found himself perfect for operating the time machine.
