Use the smoove Tool on them to make smooth objects and such. You can make something with the quarter sphere then copy it and paste it on the other side to make something symetrical, same with the half sphere. Beacause the smoove tool works of a big scale, I made the spheres big. Shrink them down AFTER you make what you want. To make Realy detailed high- polygon shapes, Select all and add detail. It will triple the poly and detail in the model. Verry useful and took a lot of time to make ALL those triangles :) This is the technique I used to make My beenbag chair.
