Disclaimer: This model DOES NOT match the exact size/measurement to the original mosque. The original mosque is located in the heart of Palembang, South Sumatra. The official name is "Masjid Agung Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin Jayo Wikramo", named after a sultan who initiated the construction. It is one of the oldest mosque in Palembang, and along with Lawang Kidul Mosque and Suro (Mahmudiyah) Mosque, the mosque share a similar style: three-tiered roof with curved roof on the topmost tier with four main wooden post (or the "sakaguru") supporting it; twelve smalller post supporting the second tier roof; and thick walls to enclose the mosqe and to support the lowest tier roof. The mosque is ornamented in traditional nusantara and european style. The openings are full of european decorations, meanwhile the roof, visually and structurally, reflects the symbolic traditional architecture and craftmanship.
