Type 96, G3M, Nell(96式陸上攻擊機) was the realization of Imperial Japan Navy land-based, long range aviation strike force during 1930s against numerical superior of the rival US Navy Pacific Fleet. On Aug 14-16, 1937, IJNAF Kanoya Kokutai, then stationed at Matsuyama Airfield, Taihoku(Now Song Shan Airport, Taipei, Taiwan, ICAO code: RCSS), and Kisarazu Kokutai, then stationed at Omura, Kyushu, Japan, launched the very first long range trans-oceanic bombing campaign(渡洋爆擊) in history against the ground targets of Chiang Kai-Shek's Nan King Regime in Eastern China by their Type 96 Model 1 fleet.
