This unique building, completed in 1972, was designed by Walter Netsch and features the field theory of design, which incorporates geometric influences to create “environmental modules” that serve as working spaces. It is home to many of the College's basic science departments, including anatomy and cell biology, biochemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, and physiology and biophysics. Originally named the Basic Medical Building, its name was changed in 1981 to honor Howard R. Bowen, UI resident from 1964 to 1969. #Bowen #Bowen_Science_Building #BSB #Carver #Carver_College_of_Medicine #CCOM #College_of_Medicine #Health_Sciences #Iowa #Medicine #Science #Uiowa #University #University_of_Iowa #West_Campus
