This is the Earth in 7 billion years time. The grizzly fate of the Earth is inevitable. As the Sun runs out of fuel, it will swell. Over time, the planets Mercury, Venus and Earth will be consumed by the Sun. The oceans will boil, the clouds will grow, and all life on earth will be eradicated. The heat will incinerate and destroy the earth. And on contact with the sun, it will be obliterated. The explosion throws rock in all directions. Once the inner planets have been swallowed by the Sun, the Sun will pulsate and throw all of it's layers out. The remains of the dying Sun is just the core, which becomes a white drawf, and then a black drawf. The post-sun is now just a dull, boring, and lonely black rock that does nothing. If the planets Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune survive the cataclism, chances are that they will detatch from it's orbit and fly away, leaving the planets all alone and cold. Meanwhile, the sun will just do nothing, and will wait until the universe contracts in the event known as the Big Crunch. Blackholes- the remants of huge stars, might swallow the sun. And in the very end, the universe will be no more; just a dark, silent, and cold place in space. (credit)
