The Great Temple or Templo Mayor was the center of the ceremonial square in ancient Tenochtitlan (moder Mexico City). It was dedicated to Tlaloc god of rain and Huitzilopochtli god of war. The temple was destroyed in 1521 by Spanish conquistadors.
