Designed by Baldwin+White Architects of Des Moines, Iowa, the Union Drive Community Center was constructed as a part of the Union Drive Neighborhood additions in 2003, bringing a much-needed upgrade to an important area in a growing university. Located at a central point between numerous residential halls and the university academic center, the community center became a central gathering space for the students on the west side of Iowa State University. Inside, the Union Drive Community Center consists of multiple dining halls seating 876 total, a convenience store, a sports club, a retail bakery, and the community post office. On the exterior, the aesthetic of the building was conceived to connect with the numerous other traditional brick structures nearby and other landmarks throughout the university. This model was completed by Noah Diemer. #Residence_Halls
