The Washington Territorial Legislature established Skamania County in 1854, and the county seat was moved to Stevenson in 1893. In 1949, the County replaced its old courthouse with this structure designed according to the principles of the Bauhaus architectural movement. More recent additions have kept true to these principles while adding elements of the Cascadian style. Model created by Jeff Carlson of Rock Cove Design. #Bauhaus #Cascadian #Courthouse #government_building #jail #police_station #Skamania #Stevenson
