TRG
The General Electric AC4400CW is a six axle diesel electric locomotive manufactured from 1993 to 2004. Its trucks are fitted with AC traction motors, and it has a total power output of 4400 horsepower. The AAR wheel arrangement is C-C, and the locomotive is equipped with the North American wide cab, as denoted by the model name. The Central Maine & Quebec Railway purchased two AC4400CWs from the CEFX leasing company and numbered them 1002 and 1006. After the CP acquisition of CMQ in 2020, the locomotives were then absorbed into the Canadian Pacific Railway's roster, and subsequently purchased by Norfolk Southern due to a power shortage on NS's system. CMQ 1002 became NS 3987, and CMQ 1006 became NS 3988. These diesel locomotives, along with many other patched units from other railroads, can be seen on mainline freight trains.
