Fritz Hansen - oxford; low-back chair

Quasimodel
Design Arne Jacobsen, 1963. Aluminium, laminated wood, upholstery. Made in Denmark by Fritz Hansen. The Oxford chairs were first designed as tall, wooden chairs exclusively for the professors at St. Catherine's College in Oxford. Two years later, in 1965, the Oxford chairs were upholstered and put into production. Forty years after introduction, the Oxford chairs have been reshaped according to the curves and dimensions of Arne Jacobsen’s original design. The result is a slimmer, more beautiful and comfortable chair with a unique sculptured look.
