The Leeds International Swimming Pool was completed in 1966 & was the main Public Swimming Pool of Leeds. It's brutalist design devided opinion although there was a campain to save this building from demolition. It's demolition was completed at the beginning of 2010, making way for a temporary car park. There was a proposal for the 'Spiracle', a distinctive skyscraper to be built on the site, but the the plan fell through due to the recession.
