Tape Sensor
Without the electronics. Made at SENSORICA with 250µ plastic fibers, one (lever) silver coated at the tip to reflect the light back into the delivery fiber and 2 small bits of fiber as guides to align the main fibers. Sandwitched between 2 Capton Tape stripes. Made to sense vibrations, bending and heat expansion/contraction on any imaginable surface, with incredible accuracy. The computer program and the electronics are now able to take 4 signals (fibers/sensors) in the same time, but 2 is enough to have the 3 axis of movement: bending (XY) and stretching (Z), if placed in parallel along your segment, at 90*angle from the center of the cross section. The other 2 fibers are for Torsion Motion and need to be placed in cross-spirals along the length of your segment. You can use these on anything imaginable, even to test your ''stiffness''...¦:¬) It's cheap and tough, we're using it on a hockey stick and the electronics will fit in the top tip, wireless and batery powered, they will talk to your smartphone or your laptop. Big applications like heavy machinery, aeronautics, etc will benefit most. Uses a small LED... All this is part of SENSORTICA project <> and the hard thinking of members like me, my bro Tiberius (TB), buddy Ivan Pavlov, François Bergeron, Jonathan Olesik, and others. You too can add value to this project and start to grow your piece of pie, or you can team up to integrate it in your technology. #bending #capton #contraction #dilatation #electronics #expansion #fiber #heat #LED #material #measure #optical #plastic #sensor #Sensorica #tape #torsion #transducer #twist
