The creeper's bones are built for all-terrain maneuvering. Strong bones in the legs help the creeper walk on all terrains. The (small as it may be) brain of the creeper is hardwired to TNT in its stomach, hence the large explosions which it causes. This is because fuses run from the brain to the TNT; when the creeper is attacked, the sensory signals in the brain set off the fuses. 1.5 seconds later, a violent explosion occurs, and the unfortunate Minecraftian is usually blown up.
