The Raytheon AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) is an American beyond-visual-range radar guided air-to-air missile capable of all-weather day-and-night operations. In use since 1991, there were four main variants produced – A/B/C and D. This model represents the AIM-120C-7, a seventh generation upgrade of the original 1996 “C” version currently in production. At 12 feet in length, 7 inches in diameter, with a wingspan of 1 foot, 7 inches, it carries a WDU-41/B 40 lb. high explosive blast fragmentation warhead, with a missile range 57-65 nautical miles and a max speed of Mach 4. The model also includes the Marvin Engineering Co. LAU-129 wing mounted single rail missile launcher used on the General Dynamics F-16 USAF fighter jet.
