This model shows the basic concept of how to setup UTI G.8032 Ethernet Ring Protection (ERP). It shows two primary rings and one sub-ring so that people know that they can also do that.
There are TWO aggregate switches on the top layer. The two primary rings attached to both of them. The green arrows are the uplinks to the core network (core network not shown).
Additionally there is one sub-ring configured below the yellow colored primary ring. This is often done when picking up smaller utilization (bandwidth wise) customers.
