The Key Bridge is a continuous truss design spanning the Patapsco River just outside the Baltimore City limits. Its construction completed the final link of the Baltimore Beltway. It was originally planned to be a tunnel, but planners opted for a bridge, enabling for the transport of hazardous materials across the Harbor which are prohibited in a vehicular tunnel. The view from the bridge is spectacular, but because of its height and proximity to the Chesapeake Bay it is subject to fierce crosswinds. #Baltimore #bridge
