This is based of a Swedish gun carriage blueprint from 1827 for a naval gun. The original blueprint is owned by the Swedish Maritime Museum.
This design made it possible to turn the cannon 360degrees without the hazzle of moving the gun carriage manually. Instead it was placed on an additional frame ancored to the ground.
