Xenacanthus moorei

Xenacanthus moorei

Birdman
A throwback to the Devonian era, Xenacanthus was one of the longest-lived genuses of sharks ever to exist. These bizzare looking sharks were adapted for life in the shallow waters of inland lakes, ponds and swamps, using thier unique shape and smallsize to slip effortlessly thruogh the obstacles and cover that freshwater affords. They lived thier last days near the end of the Triassic period, some 220 million years ago. #animal #arizona #birdman #devonian #fish #pond #prehistoric #shark #swamp #triassic #water #xenacanthus
