Starting in May of 2023, CSX Transportation began a program of painting General Electric ES44AH locomotives in heritage paint schemes commemorating its predecessor railroads. Commencing operation in 1850, the Louisville & Nashville was a railroad that served New Orleans and Memphis to Atlanta and the Florida Panhandle. The railroad merged with the Atlantic Coast Line to form the Family Lines System, part of what would eventually become the Seaboard System.
