The R.M.S. Majestic was a ocean liner in service for the White Star Line, it was launched in 1914 as the Bismarck for the Hamburg Amerika Line, but remained incomplete until when seized by the allies and given to the White Star Line for war reparations, the liner was finally completed in 1922 and renamed Majestic. The liner was the largest in the world, with 56,551-tons, 956.0 ft (291.4 m) in length, and a speed of 23.5 knots. It size was beaten by the french liner Normandie in 1935. After sold and renamed H.M.S. Caledonia in 1937 as a training ship, The ship caught fire and burnt out on 29 september, 1939, sinking at her moorings. The wreck was sold in March 1940 to Thos W Ward for scrap, but it was not until 17 July 1943 that the remains of Caledonia were raised and towed to the scrapyard.
