The largest departmental library in the UI library system, the Hardin Library for the Health Sciences was built in 1974 and combined the medical, dental, pharmacy, nursing, and speech pathology collections. In 1988 the library was renamed the Hardin Library for the Health Sciences in honor of Robert C. Hardin, dean of the College of Medicine from 1962 to 1969. The present collection contains 350,000 volumes and receives nearly 3,000 periodical titles. In addition, the library has a large amount of space for research and reading, and can accommodate over 1,000 users. #Carver #Carver_College_of_Medicine #CCOM #College_of_Medicine #Hardin #Hardin_Library #Health_Sciences #HLHS #Iowa #Medicine #Science #Uiowa #University #University_of_Iowa #West_Campus
