1967. NEW MODERN JETS FOR ALITALIA FLEET.
The new latest generation jets also enter service: the Douglas DC-8/62 four-engine aircraft for long-haul flights and the DC-9/30 twin-reactor, intended for short and medium-haul routes. Now on the planes the Alitalia writing is compact and located in a concentrated way only in the front part of the fuselage, rather than extended and central as in the previous DC-8/42 and Caravelle models. This will be the last time for the pentagram livery with the tricolor at the tail, that will soon be changed in 1970.
1966-1969. TITA ROSSI UNIFORMS: ASCOT, PILLBOX HAT AND BLUE NAVY
Alitalia uniform was changed again, according to the dictates of a so frenetic 60s fashion system. The Roman designer Tita Rossi proposes a blue navy cool wool suit, with a double-breasted jacket with 4 golden buttons, round neckline and short sleeve in summer version, the blouse has an ascot collar. The whole is completed by a pillbox hat, typical sixty-style tambourine cap.
