George is a grumpy steamroller and no friend to the engines. "Railways are no good! Turn them into roads! Pull them up! Turn them into roads!" is his catchphrase and he spends his time just doing that.
He is based on an Aveling-Barford R class steamroller, another example of this class on Sodor is Buster.
