Central Fairmount Building and Loan Company Building

Central Fairmount Building and Loan Company Building

W_LeMay
This is a model of a real-life structure located at 1944 Harrison Avenue in the South Fairmount neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Constructed in the 1930s for the Central Fairmount Building and Loan Company, a local neighborhood bank that was founded in 1892, the building was home to the Selective Service Board for the surrounding neighborhoods during World War II. The building appears to not have much activity in the modern day, either serving as some low-traffic business or private residence. The building is a notable example of limestone-clad Art Deco-style architecture that is the most prevalent form of the style in the city of Cincinnati, and is located on a busy thoroughfare in a neighborhood that has gone through substantial urban decay. The building is solid, well-built, and in decent condition, but has ceased operation as a bank, and, today, sits in an area along a major thoroughfare that does not attract many people, and is just somewhere people pass through. Feel free to use this model as you see fit, on the condition that you contact me first so I know where it is being used (I'd love to see it wherever it ends up), and give me a mention or credit wherever it is used or published. #Cincinnati #ArtDeco #MeetingHall #HistoricArchitecture
