International Orbital Platform (IOP)

International Orbital Platform (IOP)

send in the jagdpanther
Proposed in the mid 2080s the international orbital platform ,which sits in a geostationary orbit above the central atlantic,is the largest man made structure in space. It has a British sector, an American sector, a Chinese sector, a Russian sector and a European sector. It also has a number of international sectors (those closest to the camera in this view). The IOP ,as it is known, can accomodate ships up to 20km long whilst also providing docking gantries and landing bays for anything smaller such as fighters and personal craft, shuttles, frigates, transports, destroyers, and cruisers. The three large spheres protruding out from the command and control hub contain antimatter fuel which some ships may require, the inner one also contains hydrogen fuel and a number of other commodities such as water in separate chambers. The military sectors are located on and branch off a central hub containing a number of space elevators connecting to a ground hub (The largest of these has its cable shown on the model) while those that branch off the lower part of the hub are the civilian and international sectors. Amongst the military sectors in the circular structure near the tanks is the command and control for the IOP. The entire station has an artificial gravity field beneath its decks.YOU MAY NOT USE THIS MODEL IN ANY PROJECT WITHOUT EMAILED PERMISSION FROM ME, thanks. #british_star_fleet #dock #future #geostationary_orbit #interceptor #international_orbital_platform #IOP #orbit #satellite #sci_fi #space #space_dock #space_elevator #space_station #starships
