Wind pressure relief solar panel roof system, update2

Wind pressure relief solar panel roof system, update2

Ronald
This update extends the roof support to handle 6 panels and deals with the opposite roof slope... Background: I have a couple of big maple trees near my house that I really don't want to cut... But I also would like to have 18 solar panels on my roof and since only one roof segment is facing south I'm forced to put some panels where they could be subject to a lot of wind. This system has each panel mounted slightly off center on a pole so that as the wind force increases the panel acts like a weather vane, not a sail, and rotates to reduce the force. Assuming that a high south wind will be rare I put a stop on the bottom of the long side to catch the panel as the wind decreases. In the event of that rare south wind the stop has to give way and I now have to invoke string and a tricky stop resetting mechanism.. more on this later....Translate Show original Use the link below to share this page. http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=82dfd6d3e92b128610447ccee5e23f6f Use the code below to include this model in your website.
