Tri-Level Autorack - CSX Transportation

Tri-Level Autorack - CSX Transportation

TRG
Autoracks are a special kind of railroad car designed for the transport of cars and small trucks. The tri-level auto rack was introduced in the 1960s, and in subsequent years, the auto racks were eventually converted into closed cars with panel sides and a corrugated roof. Nearly all of these cars are owned by Trailer Train (TTX), though many railroads with long-term leases on these cars have their logos applied on the panel sides. This model is a CSX auto rack with three decks for containing automobiles. On many class I railroads, these cars are usually pulled in unit trains, a kind of train which is only used for transporting automobiles.
